Banner supplies vital products for The Electoral Office for Northern Ireland

In February 2022, Banner was approached by The Electoral Office for Northern Ireland to support them with sourcing and supplying the necessary products to ensure a safe and successful execution of the upcoming elections in May 2022. Banner worked closely with the Electoral Office to ensure a quick turnaround of stationery and infection control products in high volumes. 

The Challenge 

Due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, the Electoral Office had a vital requirement for a range of infection control products. This was to ensure the protection of their staff and the public voting in polling stations, which are typically located in church halls, local schools, or public buildings. 

In preparation for the election, the products had to be supplied to central locations ahead of time. This would give their staff the amount of time required to co-ordinate and organise packs to be distributed to over 600 polling stations throughout Northern Ireland. Additionally, there was a requirement to deliver products for use in 3 count centres. It was critical for all the products to be delivered within a tight timeframe, as the time scales could not slip due to the fixed election date. 

The Solution 

Banner worked closely with the NI Electoral Office to determine the necessary products and specifications to fulfil their requirements, all within the designated timeframe. We then provided samples of the chosen infection control products to further confirm that they met all the requirements. 

The products included: 

• Free standing perspex screens for use in the count centres  
• Desktop screens for the polling stations 
• Sanitising dispensers for all locations 
• Individual bottles of hand sanitiser 
• Type IIR masks 
• Anti-viral wipes 
• Hand sanitiser for the dispensers

Banner effectively managed stock to ensure the availability of the required quantities.  Moreover, Banner efficiently coordinated deliveries from multiple suppliers who were providing various products to specified locations. 

The Result 

Through Banner’s consolidation services, the Electoral Office staff were able to concentrate on their core focus of delivering the election whilst Banner organised the supply of their stationery and infection control products.
