Moving to Banner has delivered on-going cost savings and a pain-free switch for Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
Brief
The Trust, which provides health services to 700,000 people across Dorset, is a member of the CCS framework. It turned to Banner for new ideas and a fresh approach after experiencing issues with its incumbent supplier.
"We were looking for a new partner that we could trust, who would help us improve costs. We'd been working on a pre-payment plan basis but realised this wasn't the best solution for us. We were looking for a revitalised approach and Banner gave us the confidence they could achieve this.
What we did
"Banner went through a benchmarking and price matching process that showed us they could achieve significant savings. I was still concerned, however, that the move would be a big undertaking. I've experienced two changes of stationery supplier in the past and neither have been free of issues. We needed Banner to get any new contract up and running as quickly and smoothly as possible.
"Banner implemented the switch in just three weeks from ratification by the Trust and the supply of data. Switching issues were minimal, and very few glitches were usually dealt with overnight.
"Because we were already buying Banner products through our previous supplier's, and using the same delivery network, the move was simpler in some ways, but it is still a great credit to Banner that interruptions were minimal. Stationery can be an quite emotional subject for people who may have product preferences, so keeping to the same ranges while moving to deal directly with Banner helped prevent those issues.
"We found Banner's e-commerce site far easier to use than the previous supplier's one. We expected people to have problems but that hasn't been the case. It's a cleaner, fresher layout and much easier for people to navigate.
"The switch has been a fairly seamless one that has freed me, and the rest of my team, to deal with other things. The implementation process has given me a great assurance about moving forwards with Banner and achieving further savings and efficiencies for the Trust."
